Common questions
PDF Tools FAQ
Are my PDF files uploaded to ToolPool?
No. These PDF tools read and process your selected files locally in the browser. The files are not uploaded to the ToolPool server.
Can ToolPool open password-protected PDFs?
Password-protected and encrypted PDFs are not supported. Unlock the document with an authorized PDF application before using these browser tools.
Why might browser PDF compression produce a similar file size?
Browser-side repacking can reduce structural overhead but does not strongly recompress embedded images, scans, or fonts. PDFs that are already optimized may stay the same size or become slightly larger.
Will PDF links, forms, and bookmarks always be preserved?
Simple page operations preserve visible page content, but advanced document structures such as forms, bookmarks, attachments, and page-linked annotations may not carry into newly extracted or merged documents. Review important output before sharing it.
